Lost account access

As a part of its privacy policy, NoBleme will protect your anonymity as much as possible. This means that you will never be sent any emails that could be used to link you to your identity on the website, or asking you to provide your password. On top of that, automated password recovery systems can be used in a few nefarious ways that we would rather not have to deal with. With this context in mind, NoBleme decided to not implement an automated account recovery process.

If you have lost access to your account (forgotten username, forgotten password, or otherwise), the only way to recover that access is to go on NoBleme's NoBleme's IRC chat server and ask for a website administrator to manually reset your account's password. No need to worry about identity usurpation, there is a strict process in place that will allow the administrator to verify your identity before doing the resetting.

Era: Dank memes

This page is about a cultural era, an arbitrary way to separate meme history into time periods.

This cultural era began around 2015 and ended around 2020.
Previous cultural era: Mainstream era
Next cultural era: The pandemic years

Following a few years in the spotlight as the hot new trend, most memes were starting to grow stale. While some people simply gave up on memes, others decided to spawn a new generation of meme culture, reminiscent of the early days of the Internet, back when memes seemed completely absurd to most people. Thus, the mostly absurd dank memes were born as a counterculture to the now mainstream meme culture.

In the meantime, said mainstream meme culture was being co-opted by political movements, used as propaganda tool to fuel the flames of a manufactured culture war, culminating in the 2016 USA elections in which an alt-right candidate won by spreading large amounts of fake news and politically loaded memes.

The fallout of Gamergate, a gigantic wave of drama which led to the harassment of some minorities, gave visibility and a large audience to a lot of new content creators who dedicated themselves to discussing sociocultural topics full time. Some were reactionaries who refused to get over the drama, but others were more progressive people trying to educate the masses on previously unknown topics.
